Dr.Dre 2001 Appreciation

Funnily enough, I started listening to this again the other week! Also started listening to The Marshall Mathers LP as well as The Chronic. Inspired me to whip out Doggystyle from Snoop Dogg again too. Brilliant albums.
 
Great producer Dre is but as a rapper, he aint nothing much tbh. Was at one point the man with the midas touch ie every track he produced was more or less a hit for the said artist.

Saying that i still think Dre rocks, Nas?? as much as ive tried to like him...i just cant...why people think hes the best thing since sliced bread is beyond me tbqh. Cant think of one single track from Nas thats made me sit up and take a good listen to it...personally i think Lady Sovereign is a better rapper than Nas:p...

Saying that though Dre hasnt really come up with anything much lately ie no new albums from him since 2001. Wonder why??, would love to hear or see what he can come up with these days.

Nas is a damn good lyricist though, which might redeem your opinion on his rapping ability :)
 
dres been making his new album for years :(

many doubt it will ever get released now , people where saying he says hes not releasing anything unless its perfect . he obv doesnt need the money and doesn't want to release something average

apparently hes has an album with snoop , album with ice cube ,album with timberland , nwa reunion album etc all in the making but no signs of releases :(

made $450 million making records, not bad :p

dont think ive heard anything by nas for years, didnt even know he was still around :o

i do think illmatic is one of the best albums of all time from any genre though

really really love that album

was rumors of a new "up in smoke" tour
