BBC looking to hit all the other employment tick boxes with the new Dr Who actor.
Scotish!Which employment boxes does Ncuti Gatwa tick?
Happy with it being a guy. Race doesn't matter but the character "The Doctor" is male, it was disgusting that they attempted to change decades of history and storytelling.
Hopefully davies retcons everything from chibnall's disgrace and everyone pretends it didn't happen.
A gay black guy as the new Doctor Who, I bet the BBC creamed themselves at the prospect.
Doctor Who used to be great. Now it's a woke tick box exercise that needs retiring again. A shame as I used to love Doctor Who.
It's honestly pathetic how outraged some of you lot get about fictional characters being changed by the people that own the rights to said characters.
The interesting question is who (which demographic) they get to play The Doctor next? Considering that viewers and ratings have collapsed with the first female lead (whether or not that's anything to do with her being a female).
1) Kill the show now and revive it in the future - They can't do this because a number of people would say a woman driver crashed the car and shout "get woke, go broke".
1) Revert back to a traditional white male - They can't do this. It would be admitting defeat and pandering to the few people who did genuinely stop watching due to the gender change.
2) Another woman - They can't do this because they would still have a woman playing the role when it's inevitably cancelled after a season of the next Doctor.
4) Get a black/asian male actor to play the part - This would continue the diversity theme and if the series still fails then no single demographic could be pointed at.
I think option 4 is the only route they can go now.
But regardless, it's the writing which need to change. That's the real cause of the problem.
EDIT: Also kill off the Daleks for good please.
Female Thor has established lore in the comics already, so thats fine. Along with "Thor" being a completely different species in some cases. I suppose you can argue female thor only happened back in the 2000's or something so I guess its "recent" but still its been 20+ years.Disgusting? I have some bad news for you about the new Thor film as well.
Pretty sure he's not gay, he just played a gay character on a show.

Thor and Jane Fosters Thor are not the same character. She will be taking over the "Thor" helmet or whatever words you want to use as "replacement" but its a different character.Species doesn't matter but the character "Thor" is male, it was disgusting that they attempted to change decades of history and storytelling in 2014.

Im fairly sure there were female timelords in one or two episodes. But Im woke so it wouldnt have had that big an impression on me then.Female Thor has established lore in the comics already, so thats fine. Also I use the word disgusting mainly in regards to changing well established lore and who "The Doctor" is, similar to many characters being gender swapped for political purposes with no pre-established lore to justify it. Its also a coincidence that all of the gender swapped movie/tv-shows fail hard.

The master springs to mind from the more recent additions to the doctor who material with the "Missy" regeneration during Peter Capaldi's doctor.Im fairly sure there were female timelords in one or two episodes. But Im woke so it wouldnt have had that big an impression on me then.
