They have taken such a hammering from (ex)fans that they might actually improve for the third game(it could hardly be worse).

I for one am not going to trash it until i know more. Personally, i think the only way that i would play it was if you played as the warden again with Hawke as one of the party members. Also bring back the origin type openings. Then i would consider it.

I thought they were still maintaining that everyone who didn't like DA2 was a troll and the game was perfect?

Or did they finally stop pretending and admit it was a rushed cash-in?

Its probably just all the DLC packs for part 2 that they are re-hashing into another half assed pile of code. and calling it 3.

I just finished the second game.

Yes it isnt as good as the first one.

But the combat is an improvments as well as the graphics.

Merge origins with the combat and graphics of the second, and they will have a good game.

Also the second game had hardly any darkspawn, nothing about the grey wardens, no epicness at all.

Ah but one thing it did have in abundance that the first one didnt was dragons!

Give it a rest opeth. DA2 was a pile of **** through and through. From the giant chunks cut out of the story to the crap way it was told. From the lame 'press button for awesome' combat to the ridiculous animations for absolutely everything. From the empty town/city to the recycled external areas. From the fact saying hello to most male characters appears to be a request for sex to the way Flemeth suddenly became a dominatrix and all the other female characters also became **** on legs.

There isn't a thing they should take from DA2.

Enjoyed DA:O, but I didn't buy the second (obviously), and I've completely lost faith in the series so I think I'll give the 3rd one a miss too.

is the second one really that bad? i own the original complete version but never finished it, cant be bothered to go back now either if the series has gone **** up

Yes it was that bad. You should complete the first though, as to be fair, it has almost nothing to do with the second. The second should be forgotten all about. I am not going to say "I will miss the 3rd" as you never know, it might be ok, but that remains to be seen.

You forgot to mention the ninja spawning enemies that made any sort of tactical approach to combat pointless. 'keep your mages at distance and at the back' what is the ******* point when all of a sudden the 'back' becomes the front EVERY SINGLE COMBAT ENCOUNTER! Would not mind if fade demons did it; that is what they do, but when peasants and pirates ninja from thin air it takes the ****. I basically broke the game as for every combat encounter I would just retreat back through the map so that they could not spawn behind me. However sometimes this would me that sometimes I could not talk to a quest npc during the quest as I hadn't by that point tripped the invisible trigger to spawn the next set of enemies behind me! Stupid steaming pile of @j&@! Needless to say, it sits on my shelf unfinished.

It wasn't that bad. In reality it was to DA:O what ME2 was to ME2, streamlined for the console audience.

Take it for what it is and enjoy it, although to be fair the repetitive locations & ninja spawning enemies were fairly ridiculous, in the end it's all worth it for Isabella ;)

I tried to defend Dragon Age 2 to an extent but the more the game went on I just got annoyed at the blatant laziness and ohw obviously it was rushed through the door 2 years too soon; still haven't finished it. It's a damn shame. I enjoy the new combat style but just running around a couple of locations in the same city with a few excursions to some other generic looking places just got too much.
