I got it for a Christmas present and I've played about 25+ hours of it now. The voice acting is amazingly good, probably the only game where I'm not wishing it still had the original Japanese actors.
The graphics are pretty decent considering it's running on a PS2 because it's cell shaded.
I think the only thing I don't like is how easy it seems to be. But I might of just played too many RPGs.

if you enjoys the traditional final fantasy series ie random battles summons great storyline etc you will enjoy this. Made by the same people behind ff series squaresoft
Well not exactly. The dragon quest series use to be made by Squaresofts rival Enix. But of course now they've merged both series are made by the same company. I think the creative types behind both series have still been kept separate for the most part (although Toriyama has worked worked with Squaresoft while also working with Enix before the merger).
