Well my XSPC 750 bayRes/pump is off for RMA and I was thinking about how much of a hassle it was to drain. Quick question really, on the back of the bayres/pump there is a spare port.

Can it be used for a drainage system & what parts would I need for it?
Also If I wanted to add a drain line at the bottom of my loop aswell would I need the exact same parts?

Just asking for when I get the pump back.

Thanks

Info: Currently cooling my cpu using xspc block. with a bottom mounted RX240. Might add my cards into the loop later so just look for a qick and easy way to drain for installations and cleaning.

since your rad is int the bottom you may be better adding a

and

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...ktdetailseite&emcs2=WC-216-XS&emcs3=WC-060-AQ

a couple of compression fittings and some spare tube and you have your own mavity powered drainage system

But yes givent the wright valve and connection the back whole could also be used for drainage

Would I need standard compression fittings tubing is xspc 7/16ID, so these

on all 3 ports of the T? or just on the 2 for the flow through to the rad and then a male to male for t -> ball valve?

I just hold a jug under the GPU and unscrew a blanking plug, with the reservoir lid on the vacuum makes sure water trickles out until the GPU is empty. Then I can remove the hoses connected to it, put them in a bucket and take the res lid off draining out the loop.

as uber said IF you have a graphics card you could unscrew the plug but since you dont either use the whole on the back which would mean a lot of tipping (its never ideal to try to drain from the highest point in your loop. but standard compression fittings are fine, you would have to use a couple of male to males for my setup

I pull a tube off the back of the res which is dual bay and isn't the highest or lowest point. Tip it up quickly for minimal leakage. Lots of paper towel and then let it drain. When it stops draining naturally, I take the other tube off and blow down one while the other is in the bottle. Empties out in no time.
