got a 2nd gtx 580 coming tomorrow with and ek block. but when i built my loop i didnt plan on how i was to go about emptying it. after searching many are suggesting pulling the cpu block out fliping the case upside down and removing one of the tubes. will this drain all the distilled water out of my loop?

It'll get most of it out, in practice it's very difficult to get all of the water out. That approach is a popular one, I tend to hack through a tube with a stanley knife instead (compression fittings).

Ideally plumb a drain line in while it's in pieces, just a T piece with a ball valve.

ive been thinking on that. the lowest thing i got is the rad so just split of the out let from that and let it hang out side while draining?

what i would suggest is go to amaazon.uk and buy a small hand-water pump/got mines for a £5.place one end of the tube in thr resivour and the other end in a small bucket and drain/takes me about 4-5minutes to drain my pc,this is by far the easyest way i know to drain my pc in a few minutes, means you can reuse the coolant aswell

I usually disconnect the pump outlet and hotwire a psu up to the pump and run the pump (on slow (i have the d5 with roebus) briefly to drain the water out.

I might have a look at the pump idea though but I use a swiftech micro res so it might be right pain to do.

I just remove cpu block and hold it above a bowl. Then disconnect one tube and allow it to drain, then disconnect the other tube. Then blow through one tube to get as much water out as possible and blow through the other tube as well. This gets about 70-80% of the water out.
