dram frequency wrong ?

Well that does sound very off, as you would expect it to say between 666-800 MHz depending on the setting.

Would you be able to post up a screenshot from CPU-Z?

Ah, you are running at 535.8 MHz (1071.6 MHz Double Data Rate), which is the default.

To achieve the rated speed of your ram - 800MHz (1600 MHz Double Data Rate)- then you will need to go into the BIOS and either enter the frequency, voltage and timings manually.

Thanks a lot m8 i will have a tweak with it now :D

I never messed with timing before though is it some thing i would need to do or can leave that bit alone ?

Thank you.

It should work fine without changing it, so leaving it alone is certainly an option. But you did pay for 1600MHz RAM, which is currently only running at 1070 MHz.

Ok after putting the speed of the ram to 1600mhz in the bios and cpuz was saying 800mhz so thats good.

But i ran prime95 and i got blue screen error :(

I upped the violts to +50 (the next one up from 1.4 and still same error.

I would put more volts on but i am not sure what is safe volts for ram ?

I had a look a the ram timing screen in the bios and well i have no clue where to begin messing with that :(

my motherboard is a GA-MA790FXT-UD5P

Thanks.

- 1600MHz DDR3
- CL 6-8-6-24 (CAS-TRCD-TRP-TRAS)
- Available in 4GB optimized kits
- Unbuffered
- Lifetime Warranty
- 1.65 Volts

1.65 Volts would appear to be the limit, try putting 1.5V through it, that should make a difference ;)

Thanks seraph i was just about to post the specs after looking on OCZ but now looking on overclockers ( specs you posted) there not the same lol

I must off looked at the wrong one lol

Right i will up the volts see what happens.

I still not sure how to match CL 6-8-6-24 into the bios timing unless it real easy and i am looking at it wrong :)

Thanks.

Just went into the bios and went to up the ram volts so i added 50 from normal and it said it was now 1.650 :O so normal volts are 1.6 thats a bit high ?

But cpuz says 1.5 volts but i always thought the bios is what you go by as that should give you the right reading.
