I have a second user Draytek 2865 and want to revert the unit to factory values, but it appears to be holding the previous password, a few IP objects and WAN credentials. I can change the password in Management and remove the Objects but the moment I default it, the previous password, objects and WAN creds return. I've also reflashed the firmware using the .rst file. Does anyone know if there's a way of getting thi back to true factory values?

Are you defaulting it away from a network with internet access, or is it possibly provisioning itself automatically when it boots back up?

I assume you're using the UK BT firmware (https://www.draytek.co.uk/support/downloads/vigor-2865)? Did it appear to reflash correctly?

I can't say i've heard of Draytek's retaining settings after a factory reset but i would first run through all three of the typical reset methods (https://www.draytek.com/support/knowledge-base/5738) again in order and see how you get on.

If you end up in the same situation then try the TFTP recovery method (https://www.draytek.com/support/knowledge-base/5222, https://purplecomputing.com/tech-how-to/draytek-vigor-tftp-recovery-repairing-faulty-routers/) of flashing firmware to the device.

To be honest, flashing firmware using the RST file (using either method) should do a complete factory reset so if the above doesn't work then i would emailing Draytek support, who are pretty good, and see what they suggest as this isn't normal behaviour.

It's confused me as well, I wasn't aware of there being any way to lock DrayTek devices in this way (that's more a Zyxel/Technicolor thing), and Gamma don't supply their products so it's something that a 3rd party has done.

Look in the TR-069 section and see if it's got the ACS details in there, if it has someone hasn't removed it from their cloud account and it's auto provisioned with their setup / details.
