Draytek access point issues

I am attempting to add a Draytek AP912C to my Draytek 2862n router to improve WiFi access around the building. I have put the same WiFi details from the router into the access point but found that, whilst I can connect to the Internet via the access point I lose all LAN connections.

For example, when only using the router’s WiFi, my iPad can print to my wireless printer. When the access point is on, I can no longer connect to the wireless printer. However wired LAN connections can still print. I cannot ping the iPad from a wired PC.

The access point is on the same subnet (192.168.0.x) and yet seems to stop devices attached to it from talking to the rest of the LAN. Is there a secret setting somewhere that I have to enable or disable for this to work? This thing is driving me daft! :)

All fixed (for now!) and you were right, there was a setting for isolation hidden away.

For anyone else struggling with this, I would advise not using the Central AP Management on a DrayTek router as it is confusing and misses out settings. When setting up the SSID on the AP’s own management page, underneath Wireless 2.4GHz (or 5GHz) select Advanced Settings and change ‘Isolate 2.4GHz and 5GHz’ from the default yes to no. I had all the other isolation settings unchecked but didn’t know about this one.

I did have to restart a couple of devices to get them to connect properly but since then it appears to be working as expected. I will try to re-add my isolated guest WiFi and see what happens - wish me luck!
