Draytek or Netgear?

Well there are several known issues with netgears and with linksys routers, I especially love it when the linksys just loose their config for no reason. Its not always a problem but I would rather us a router thats known and proven and tested to be reliable by business's with an SLA.

True that, I am FOR SURE!!!! going for one Netgear, and one Draytek :)

But do you think the price for the draytek is worth it? 150GBP +?

Cheers :P

I spent nearly £150 on my router many years ago, and for the fact it hasn't crashed, has not failed and pretty much supported everything I needed it is worth it :)

Got a Draytek Vigor 2600plus. Can't remember a time it's crashed since I first got it in 2004. It's now behind a panel in a cupboard that would involve removing 4 screws to get to - and I haven't needed to yet!

I've got a Netgear DG834G and it's been grand. I've joined a company called Keylogic and the Draytek devices seem very good and I like the VPN functionity that they provide..

Mmm wonder if I can get a work discount...

I work for an isp that supplied both draytek and netgears, plus done very extensive testing on both, and from my experiences if you want a router that just does what it says on the tin the Draytek is the only real choice, netgears crash more, have odd problems and especially poor when the have problems when the nat tables fill up (something you are much more likely to see if you use p2p).

Agreed, my DG834G which i got free when i was on AOL locks sometimes and i use p2p all the time, the NetGears are well known for it apparently (which you obviously know), sometimes when i switch my PC on it will just be locked (my router), has to be fully unplugged a couple of times to get it unlocked and back to normal, i know when its locked as my MSN starts to sign in, then just stops with the 'X' in the corner, and i can't get any net on at all, just comes up timed out, and if i go into the routers settings some are dashed out, and the connection status is just stuck on LCP is allowed to come up...., so i know i have to fanny on unplugging, replugging a couple of times as said to unlock it, no wonder the ***** are free. :D
