Dreams - are they experienced in real time?

I probably only remember 1 or 2 dreams a month. Pretty sure I filter anything that might be disturbing, as in, I might have bad dreams, but don't have any recollection.

Haven't had a nightmare since I was a kid.

I'm more likely to remember a dream if I have snoozed my alarm and stayed in bed.

Weirdly having been stroppy about not remembering dreams I had one last night and I remember it. I was right my brains screwed up :D.

Back to forgetting from now on!

I dream every night and there isn't a single night I don't dream, is that unusual?

We all dream but not everyone can remember them.

I used to believe that the 3rd last thing I thought about before going to sleep, that's what I would dream about.

Whatever you do/think before sleeping definitely makes a difference, not that those things will appear in those dreams but they will affect what happens in the dream.

So for example doing something naughty before sleeping you might not remember any dream, while doing something else that doesn't drain your energy could mean you have a vivid dream that you can remember.

I see dreams as the subconscious vomiting. I had a dream once that I experienced a few weeks later. It was like my dream saw the future. Never happened since. I can remember some dreams from my childhood. I had an awesome zombie apocalypse dream that i can still remember. But as i was about to start killing zombies i woke up.
