Dreamweaver - Spry (Javascript) and XHTML not getting along

Hey everyone

my website www.gauntface.co.uk/sites/home.xhtml has working drop down menu's if the extension is .html but when the extension is .xhtml it doesn't work, does anyone have any ideas why or how I might fix it?

Ok lil update - i know I can't change the MIME type on my web server - company wont let me do it for security and performance reasons but I still don't see why using the extension .xhtml stops it from working and extension .html doesnt, any ideas?
