Good thread on PH about this, who has ever driven drunk, no point telling porkies so be honest. Also state your age, as that is important due a change in attitude in later years.

Can we have a poll please.

I'l start the ball rolling and say never in the last 15 years, but before that i will admit i did.

Im 44 now.

You have been exposed..........

As the police, 'Sting Operation People'.

I never have and would never drive when drunk, a friend did in college after 8 pints despite our best efforts to stop him.

I stopped drinking around 25 years ago when I was 20'ish. Before that I remember being carried to my car & driving a car full to a house party etc I even had 2 Dudes in the boot. :o
Everybody drunk & drove back then & I would think it's hard for todays people to understand how we got away with it but there was just so few cars about in those days, I remember racing home from a regular night club every Friday night like a Looney about 3am in the morning racing anybody going my way, Thing was the only people about at that time were other **** heads like myself being stupid.
I did lose a few mates in stupid accidents though. :(

Once, when I was 18, driving a friend's car in Tesco car park. I got about 5 yards and stalled, and realised I wasn't supposed to be driving.

I didn't even have a license at the time, but we were working under the "private car park = private land = no rules" way of thinking back in them days.

Once, when I was 19, drove from my student accommodation to my gf's house which is about a mile and got a proper bollocking from her about it.

Never ever again.

/edit I'm 25

I have driven the morning after a heavy night when, whilst feeling fine, I would have been over the limit. It was only 5 miles or so but I don't think I would do it again, it just isn't worth the risk that I would lose my license.

As for drinking drunk, I havn't, nor would I ever (except in an emergency).

I failed to drink drive when I was 18 on my first motorbike. Got it started but then fell over before I'd even engaged 1st gear. Pushed it home shamefaced :( 41 now and not even got close to drink driving since. Not even with a shandy in me will I attempt it.

I have once when I was 19/20ish? Bad move, was uneventful tho.

I did some similar things before then (17-19), probably worse, which I wouldn't even consider doing now. I don't know what I was thinking of, but it never seemed to occur to me that it was wrong. God knows how I didn't hurt myself/others, or get caught.

You live and learn I suppose, or die.

If i do, it's the morning after if i stay over my mates, have to drive about 10 minutes back.

Done it a couple of times when out, have a pint, get a second then start feeling it afterwards with no other way of getting the car home. Didn't realise what i was drinking :(

I'm 21.

On the odd night out I have had a bottle of beer at teh start of the evening before driving a good number of hours later. Yes I am that badass.

One morning I felt very rough when driving to work and probably shouldn't have. That's it.
