Drinking alone?

i drink with others, its a social thing. others could just be my wife (even if she is not drinking) or a group of people. drinking alone (as in nobody else around) is sad imo.

you havent answered about this 'safe gang' thing?

What if you are just drinking a very nice sweet ale, and you want to drink it purely for the taste, i.e. drinking it for exactly the same reasoning as you would drink a fruit juice, or a fizzy drink...? How is that sad?

my wife thinks i'm a freak for drinking when she's not.

She no longer says it though as the last time she said it I said ok then i'm going to find someone to drink with and went down the pub. :D

that is having a drink. not drinking as others have mentioned (plenty lined up).
 
I am not drinking "alone"..my family is in the house lol. F' it I dont care, I am an alcoholic, I like the taste of beer/vodka etc.. I like the fuzzy feeling, I love going out with mates but I vowed that I wont go out again till the smoking ban is in place.

Just finished working so relaxing with a chilled can of lager. I finished my southern comfort earlier this week when I had a few days off work. Nicest feeling to come back from work and just sit down on a comfy chair, watching TV + drinking southern comfort and lemonade.
 
I drink on my own a lot.

I like my own company
I like beer

I never drink anything stronger than beer. I see no problem :).

My father was an alcoholic and it killed him eventually so I think I could spot alcoholism a mile off.
 
I enjoy a few cold cans when I'm gaming online (with mates in TS), I guess I don't feel that I am drinking alone when doing this.

Now about to watch a film and have one cold tin left tonight :)

I see no issue with it myself, I know I don't drink to excess, and I know I don't HAVE to drink :)
 
I sometimes pop open a bottle if I've had a bad day at work. Nothing really beats crashing on your bed with an ice cold bottle of Carlsberg Export whilst watching 24 :D. I only ever have one or two though, it is pretty sad if you're getting wasted by yourself.

depends on your situation

some people do this, for tempory relief just to get away from their horrendous life (i am speaking from experience)
