Do you ever drink alone? My two housemates have gone home for the weekend and im just having a few cans and some wine before going and meeting a few mates. Its actually nice to walk around naked with tunes on and a few cans

:)

Depends.

Couple of drinks is fine, getting completely off your face is another matter.

Yep, just got 4 cans and some wine

What if you go out by youself? Ive been to quite a lot of events in the past where i went by myself, mainlu dance events. Some of my friends think its a bit mad but i find its a nice change, you always meet new people and dont have to look out for anyone.

Same goes for when i travelled alone for 7 months. I tihnk if id been with mate(s) i wouldnt have met half the people i did

I'm sitting have a few cans myself tonight. Can't afford to go out and can't since I'm working tomorow. It's more of a chill out than drinking irn bru.

Ive got a ticket for a dubstep night (chase & statuus, rusko, scratch perverts etc) 2 mates said they got tickets so i bought mine. They never bought any. My plan is to get other mates to try and get some later when they are smashed

I never drink alone... Really I only drink because it's the thing that people do... At no point do I think that I fancy a beer instead of a normal everyday drink =\

I am not the biggest fan of the tatse of alcohol, I like beer but if I was at home I would rather have a warm drink unless it is hot, in which case I don't mind a beer.

I don't see it as a bad thing though, just not my thing. wil happily have a smoke alone. ;)

I've noticed this, I try and make sure I do new things alone, otherwise it's too easy to end up talking to the few people you already know and not actually talking to anyone new. Gigs are different when alone too, instead of trying to stick with my mates I can just chill out a bit further back whereas everyone else seems eager to try and get to the front.

I agree with shauncr91. IMO having a few drinks and relaxing is one thing, but getting hammered regularly isn't a good thing - with other people or not. I've stopped drinking anyway pretty much for the last 2 months FWIW.

In Bangkok I frequently drank alone. Or rather, I'd go out alone.

Over there it was never long before I'd meet new people. Totally different to the UK. Here if you go out alone, you'll probably stay that way. :/

As for drinking alone at home, I'll do it now an again. Not overly fussed, but occasionally I'll feel like a session, and if none of my mates are available for whatever reason I'll happily pick up a few cans and post some rubbish on here. ;)

Quite like a few cold beers of an evening whilst watching a film or playing a game or something.

Wouldn't sit in and get wasted on my own though, that's beyond just having a drink and into the realms of problem drinking.

Depends where you go. I have met around 20 people when going out in uk (alone) who i still stay in contact with. In fact 10 of them are coming down next sat to meet all my mates

I find its one of the best ways to meet new people. I wouldnt dream of talking to randoms when out with mates (unless girls) but by yourself you either make the effort or go bored. Its suprising how many people actually enjoy random people talking to them.
