Drinking Vs Smoking Vs Activities

I know the non-smokers in my office drop a few bucks each day on junk-food just for something to do. It may balance out to the amount I spend on smokes, or it may be more. Either way, I don't think there's much cost difference per day between smokers and non-smokers. It seems the non-smokers take much longer breaks during the day than smokers as well. Whereas I'm out for 7-8 mins every couple hours, they disappear for 1/2 hour or better.

Non-smokers = slackers.

Don't know where you work, but were i've just left (:D) i'd guess 75%+ of the people smoked. They without doubt took more breaks over the whole day than I did. Working at a call centre breaks are tight, and if you use up more time than you are given, or at the wrong times your given warning etc.. That i don't mind, but because our team leaders and boss' all smoke, they seem to think it ok to go inbetween breaks and smokers don't get into trouble because of this. It made more sense to take up smoking in that job i tell you.

What makes me laugh is the fact that I started this forum as light hearted look at smoking in the UK (see the original post).

And this shows just how well the government has shown people to disgust smoking. When in fact it's a perfectly normal thing to do, it's an addiction, most of us get a positive response from it physoclogically (sp?) just like drinking.

I'd much rather meet someone who's had 15 cigs out of a pub than 15 pints.

Drinking is a much bigger problem than smoking, it's about time we realised that, and stopped giving smokers such a hard time especially when most of us agree that we should be forced to smoke outside if necessary!

No government made me think smoking was disgusting. What made me think smoking is disgusting is the smokers them selves. I cant even stand to be in the same room as them when they smoke i hate the smell so much. I have relatives that smoke and the ones that do look much older then the ones that dont. The ones that smoke have the smell all through out there houses and cloths making it uninviting.

I dont smoke or drink and i dont like either for reasons ive seen in my life. No government has made me dislike it anymore then my self seeing it happen around me and experienced what it does to people.

BTW you forgot to factor in the extra medical bills in your OP :p

Now that i find completely unbelievable. At the warehouse i work, the smokers get extra breaks, just because they smoke, and they seem to be the ones staying out longer, as they dont think fag breaks are included in their breaks.

As for all these smoking threads, give up lads. My parents and brother smoke, and ive been trying for years to get them to stop, but to no avail, it's up to the smoker, not you.

There are no need for these insults aimed at smokers, im a part of a respectable family, and would rather not be called a chav thank you very much.

Edit: better put a smilie at the end of this, as it sounds very moody, but i dont mean it to :p
