I currently have a few 1Tb and 2Tb drives in my media storage pc which are all nearing capacity and approaching >5years old. I am considering an upgrade but not sure which path to take.
Do I replace the 1Tb drives with 2Tb keeping the cost down for now and wait for the 4Tb drives to go sub £100?
Replace one 2Tb drive with a 4Tb drive and keep the 2Tb as a backup?
Does anyone have a program that's free they prefer to use for copying from one drive to another, is this likely to decrease significantly the remaining life of the drive with amount of usage to transfer 1.8Tb?
Would there be any software or hardware restrictions to limit the 4Tb drive, its a fairly old motherboard running Windows 7 Pro.
