I know there's probably a hundred of these posts a day, so sorry for making another one, but here goes.

Firstly I have read the sticky and I now know that SATA2 drives will work on SATA1 boards at half speed. Obviously if I buy an SATA2 board at some point in the future I'll then get the full 300GB/s speed, so it makes no sense to buy SATA1 drives anymore, even though my board only supports SATA1.

I just want to check what I'm planning will definitely work. My board is Asus P4C800, skt 478, 2 * SATA1 (with a raid 0 controller). The drives I want to buy are -

Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 NCQ 80GB ST3808110AS SATA-II 8MB Cache

and I want to buy 2 and set them up as a raid 0 array.

Will this definitely work, any issues with raid 0 and using SATA2 drives in SATA1 compatibility mode? Any jumpers to change on Seagate drives to get them to work in SATA1 mode? And does NCQ mean anything I need to worry about?

Thanks a million,
Simon.
