Drive gone "Invalid" ?

I'm just doing a re-build and changing my case took one of my 3tb drives out left it on the table overnight put it back in and it reports drive is invalid do you want convert it to basic drive.
I've had dead drives before but not one with message, is there anything I can do to get it back working or failing that is there any FREE software out there that I can use to recover the data off it.

It is very important, Thing is I'm broke on disability Chemotherapy and dialysis and on very small income.
So not got loads to go around don't know if I can get a replacement drive yet.
