For some reason the drive order has changed, meaning my IDE drive comes before my SATA, changing the drive letters. Boot order is correct in bios. How do I change it back?
if i understand u correct and u are using win2k or xp.. u can do it easily in computer management (disk management) in control panel -> administrative tools.

Ive used the workaround of just disabling the IDE drive from BIOS, forcing the SATA drive to be C: and it's working fine. Thing that worries me is what's going to happen when I turn the IDE back on, and why has it gone belly up in the first place?
Grrr, how do I always get myself into these states?
As long as youve installed windows with the SATA drive as C:\, it shouldn't change to something else(touch wood). As already mentioned you can change the drive letters of non system drives from the disk management section.
