Ok I've just come back from holiday though before I went away I left my PC on uploading but unplugged 3 of my Seagate 320GB SATA2 drives.

I have just plugged them all back in...2 are working fine but 1 will not reactivate.
All I keep getting is this when I try to reactive it.

Windows sees it, the BIOS sees it...but the thing will not reactivate.

I have tried all 6 SATA slots on my motherboard and it still wont reactivate...anyone any idea's???

Ps....I've ran seatools and it said the drive is ok.

Do you think a new install of Windows would fix this cos I have tried everything I can think of except that.

Don't believe this....I formatted my PC last week...formatting fixed the problem ...I have unplugged serveral drives since then and plugged them back in with no trouble at all.

Just tried to plug a drive back in and once again this happens ...I just can't get it to activate no matter what I do....Could there be a problem with the actual motherboard which is causing this? It just seems to struggle with all 6 drives plugged in all 6 SATA ports.

I am sick to death of this happening I just feel like taking the board back to where I purchased it from and asking for a replacement.

Are you hot plugging the drives or doing it when the machine is off?

I ain't that stupid m8..lol

I always unplug & plug the drives when the machines turned off.

Don't worry about it anymore I'm taking this board back today had enough with it.
