Hi doing my first build and need some advice, i want 2 m.2 drives, thinking 1tb for boot and apps and then 2tb for games etc, budget is no more than £200 in total.

expected build : AMD 9800x3d 9070 xt corsair rm1000x 64gb ram

thanks for the reply, looks ok but dont really want to spend anymore than £200.
These are both higher-end PCI-E 4.0 drives with TLC NAND and DRAM, coming in under £200.

Doing it this way is poor value for money (per GB) though and the small drive for OS thing is wasteful of limited M.2 slots.

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £198.97 (includes delivery: £3.99)

My choice would be different from armageus and tetras
A single 4tb drives means 1 point of failure
If that drive goes you can lose everything

A 1tb drive and a 2tb is less value for money
But does separate your stuff at least

My choice would be 2 x 2tb drives
And there are a few on ocuk at £100 each
If windows, software and games are under 2tb combined
Then everything on C drive
Then regular clones to the 2nd 2tb gives you redundancy
In case of disaster

Not saying my option is right
And theirs is wrong
Just different approaches
My approach is always to have a backup plan

thanks for the replies, i think i still want the separate drives, 1tb for the boot and 2tb + for games and video files etc, thinking a better drive for the boot and a value but decent one for the games etc.
