When I upgraded my pc a few months back, I neglected the drives to free up more budget for the fun stuff (cpu, gpu etc), as I could make do with my current drives. Now it's time to upgrade them, but not too sure where to go.
Current setup is
60GB ssd for os
320GB Barracuda for games
2TB WD green for storage.
Been making do for now while I save for upgrades, and it's been fine for now. Don't really have too many large games installed at once, and really only have the os + the odd program on the ssd, so still 15GB or so left.
I have about £120 for Storage upgrades, so have a couple options.
500GB Samsung evo for games, leave everything else as is
256GB Samsung evo for os + games that benefit and a 1TB WD blue for games.
I could go 256GB evo + seagate 2TB 7200, but seems to be a lot of reports of clicking. The 2TB blue is only 5400rpm and can't afford black + ssd.
The other option I guess, would be to make do for a little while longer as I've not been thinking "need more space", as I only really play a game or two at a time and save a little more and go 500GB evo + 1TB blue. I suppose I can split it, if this is the best option and get the blue now and the evo once I save for it.
Which would give plenty of space for games that benefit and a lot for games that don't really need it. Never really had any games on a ssd, so not sure how much they benefit from it, if it's only certain games etc.
So just wondering what others would do, as not really sure what would be the best way to go for me.
Thanks.
