Just added my SATA Raptor 74 with XP installed to my new setup.
Problem is it can't see my other drive which is a SATA Hitachi,
it shows up in device manager as installed & working but it won't show up in' My Computer' so I can't access stuff to transfer, It shows a SATA DVD drive o.k.

How can I get the Hitachi to appear so I can access it? Is there a way to view its contents other than via ' My Computer' ?

The Raptor shows up if I load the Hitachi & in Disk management its shows as drive (F)
Loading the Raptor & looking in disc management shows the drive with no number & options are mostly greyed out

When you boot from the Raptor and look in Disk Management what options do you have when you right click on the grey box to the left of the stripe representing the Hitachi?

Are you clicking directly on the "Disk0" text or on the bit with the blue stripe? The delete partition option is only available on the blue stripe bit.

When I Click , it shows 'convert to dynamic disk' ?

Edit: just changed the SATA leads around, restarting it says new hardware /Hitachi detected etc
but still not appearing on desktop:mad:

Have you gone back into Disk Management and made sure that there's a drive letter assigned to the partition on the Hitachi?

Why not try converting to a dynamic disk then? There is a way to convert it back to a logical disk if u needed it to be one, but it involves using a hex editor IIRC.
