Hi all, is it normal for driver cleaner to take a VERY long time to finish? I tried using it yesterday and it did a couple of things but then appeared to be doing nothing so i simply closed it and reset. Any ideas? Could the fact that i have a large amount of disk space for it to check be a factor?? Thanks.

edit: oops, could a mod move this to the video card forum, sorry!

It usually works in a couple of seconds, dont forget that you have to uninstall the main drivers first LOL & just us DC to remove the registry bits

yeah, i do that. Then i boot up in safe mode and run driver cleaner. Straight away it seems to find and clear 2 or 3 registry entries but it doesn't then tell me that the process is complete and carries on telling me to wait.

I've never seen it display 'finish' or whatever I think thats normal, even tho you just cleaned the drivers it will still keep showing them still there as tho its not finished until you restart the PC

It normally says cleaning complete or something like that in the lower box after the files it has deleted, it will take a few seconds and leave you there, is there an option to view the log files?

I noticed with the latest Nvidia drivers there is very little to remove after you uninstall them so it takes hardly any time.

Restart the PC. Just before the windows loading screen appears, press F6 (hehe I'm pretty sure it's F6. If it isn't, it will be F5 or something). You'll see it in there.
