Driver issues

i'm not computer savvy ... I try but I'm just not .. re-install could cause more problems than ever .. just not into it .. surely finding and replacing a single file would be easier than a complete re-install ..

It's probably not a single file. If you've buggered the registry you'd need to re-insert the keys for it as well. The file won't create the registry keys on its own.

If you're not sure how to re-install then see if anybody can help you locally. It's dead simple but can be overwhelming if you've not done it before.

according to Microsoft it is a single inf file that is all that is needed ... it is installed in a dedicated folder .. they just won't share without paying though

Back up anything you need to another HDD/online storage.

Insert your original Windows dics, format Drive, Reinstall windows, install drivers for motherboard, install GPU drivers, wait for windows update to finsh.

Enjoy your PC again.

Yeah saw that but I disagree with that assessment. The cost they've quoted will include a full re-install of the OS. They wouldn't just send you a file.

I'd be amazed if that actually worked though. If you've got the windows disk stick it in and select repair from the list. As it's highly likely that you've deleted a registry key which is required I don't think you'll have much luck though.

You'll probably have the same issues trying to install the R290x drivers.

Get this fixed first, then if you still want an 290x go buy one;)

Glad you sorted it.. Now stay away from drivers removal software till you come across issue.. Also stay away from regedit this probably were your issue started.
