Hey just built my PC, my Gcard drivers keep restarting so i wanted to check driver version, got Win7 and forgot how to check :P, can someone tell me please, thanks!

Ok thanks, just been on CoD and it happened again. Also, I get lines chopping all over it, how do i stop that?

What do you mean by stopping? If you mean the message "have stopped responding but have successfully recovered" then try re-installing the drivers for the graphics card and check your RAM timings and voltages are set correctly in the BIOS.

The 'choppiness' could be this?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screen_tearing

Hope this helps.

Yea that message and no sorry i gave a bad example, there are lines that appaera for a split second over the screen. How do i know what timings are right?

have this RAM http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-177-OC&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1516 and CPU-Z says its at 1.5v but its also saying my CPU is 800MHz so i dunno whats going on there.

Also, CPU-Z is saying my G-card core clock is 157MHz when it should be 850MHz, says my Memory Clock is 300MHz when it should be 4800MHz

Again just restarted after just broswing the internet.

Thanks

Right ok, cant seem to find the timings, i get a big line saying 7-7-7-16-4-27-8-4 but i cant adjust it, has stuff like TCL [Auto] under it, that can be adjusted but when i adjust nothing happend to above numbers? Kind of blips when i start windows too, like the screen jumps up and down a bit and makes a crackle noise through speakers if thats any help. Done the voltages.

Will this be the RAM most likely? Not the MOBO?

Looked in event viewer and i have 3 critical called Event 41 'Kernel-Power'

Ran a windows memory test and it said some problems were found with hardware.

Thanks for replies, boars is Asus M4A79XTD, ram is OCZ DDR3 platinum 1333MHz and power supply is ocz
STealth Xtreme 500 watt

issue is most likely the card not getting enough juice, try raising the voltage (if you can) or reducing the clocks.

could also be an issue with PSU not providing enough power

Ok mate cheers, any idea how to correct the PSU or check the wattage coming from it?

What graphics card have you got? I'l be suprised if it's the PSU, although it is a possibility.

Before you go checking wattages and changing your PSU over, get your ram timings set up correctly.

Please list the full spec of your machine.

AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition 3.20GHz (Socket AM3)

Club 3D ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

Asus M4A79XTD Evo (Socket AM3) DDR3 Motherboard

OCZ Platinum 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C7 1333MHz Dual Channel Kit

OCZ StealthXStream 500w Silent Power Supply

Samsung SpinPoint F3 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (HD502HJ)

LG GH22NS50 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM

I set the timings up and its been fine just browsing but froze on a game. If it was the g-card then why would the mem test say there was a hardware problem?

Run memtest for atleast 7 passes. If it comes up with any errors even after setting up the timings and voltages 100% correctly then the memory itself is faulty. memtest takes a long time unfortunatly mate.

Btw, my MOBO only lets me increase voltages by 0.2 per time so i have to have it on 1.64v

After one test I've got 10 errors, defo the ram then? Also, there is errors column and a ECC Errs which one do I look at?

Ah ok cheers, is it worth trying the RAM in the two other slots? My RAM being on 1.64v and not 1.65v won't affect it will it? I can only go up in 0.2's and obviously 1.65 isnt a even number.

Looked in manual and i definitely have them in the right place. Noticed in the manual that on the compatibility list of the RAM it supports, all the OCZ 4096MB RAM is either 1.8v or 1.95v, no mention of a 1.65v kit of RAM. Could this be the problem or?
