Driver problems

Been having a few problems with my drivers lately so i thought one of you guys might be able to help me out.
The problems is depending on which drivers i use i get different problems.

169.25 - Strange startup problem with the welcome screen, it takes about an extra 30 seconds to boot.

175.16 - Fine on startup, but strange problem on shut down. I get a "Please Wait.." screen which lasts about 10-15 Seconds.

I have no performance issue with either, when i run 3Dmark06 both score about 11.3k and both seem to be running fine ingame.

I've tried uninstalling, re-installing, used drive cleaner, tried installing in safe mode, which didn't resolve the problem, but when i leave windows to install its "Generic Drivers" i have no problems with startup or shut down. So it's gotta be driver related. Using 8800GT on Vista 32-bit if that helps any.

Hiya,

Go back to the 175.16's

When their back in after a "very" clean de-install, Shutdown

Wait a few secs then power pc up

When OS loaded and you're at desktop and all's settled (AV maybe etc) shutdown again

Wait a a few more secs then power back up

Try that

Can do shutdowns a few more times if need, Fixed my same problem lol

Ohh and google for "autoruns" works in xp or vista but way faster in vista, Shows everything like startup items and running stuff in background etc etc (it's free)

Go through the logon tab and un-check/tick stuff you don't want booting (some nvidia bits n bobs etc)
