last night while playing a game my computer locked up so rebooted and noticed corruption (lines and dots)on even the motherboard splash screen /widows nght rider screen, when vista loaded the rez was set to the lowest possible and there was no nvidia panel in the control panel but it showed in the uninstall section. i uninstalled the drivers rebooted ran drive sweeper and installed new drivers , same problem corruption on the same screens and when in windows it cant find driver and installs its own ,any ideas driver seems to install ok , but isnt there after reboot ?

If your getting the corruption on boot-up, then it sounds like that cards memory has gone, as theres no drivers loaded at that point, so an RMA.

Indeed, driver can't be at fault on splash screen, my guess is graphics card is (PC answer) functionally impaired / (Non-PC) broke.

Aye the cards had it ,tested in another pc ,all the cheaper 280s are sold out now, sods law.The cards a msi 8800 ultra ,anyone know what their turn arounds are like and what my replacement will likely be ?
