Driver problems

I recently built a cheap pc but i am having problems with my OcUK GeForce GTX 460, no matter what drivers/version i install after 5 mins or so my screen will go black, pop up again saying 'display driver has stopped responding and has recovered then reboots, i have tailed the internet search engines and nothing has worked, so it is a issue of RMA or has anyone else had this problem. Sorry for the long ass paragraph.

My specs:
Intel Core i3-2100
MSI H61M-E33 Intel H61
Crucial Ballistix Sport 4GB
Coolermaster GX 650W PSU

Is the 460 the only gpu that's been used in your build, or did you use the onboard vga first?

What temps is the card reaching, you can use gpu-z to log the temps.

Test the 460 in another system if possible because if you rma the card and there is no fault, your looking at 2 way postage costs and a testing fee.

Yes the 460 is the only thing been used, well i am using my old gfx card now and before it rebooted the temp was around 30 but reading on afew forums just now, it could be the drivers so unsure what to do :/

Download Heaven benchmark or if you have a game already installed that has a benchmark built in run it(or just play a game for say 30 minutes), if there is no problem then your idle voltage may not be strong enough(although it should).

If it is the idle clocks then you can either use msi afterburner and create profiles with higher voltages or make a new bios with higher idle clocks in it.

As I haven't had an Nvidia card in a while now, I couldn't say what drivers are best so I would also try the driver that came on the disc with the card and see if that's stable.

Maybe there are other 460 users that's had this problem here, you could maybe ask them.

Problem is i can't install the drivers because it crashes when i reboot, it runs fine with the default windows driver so i am guessing, something else which is installed is affecting the 460 drivers and making it unresponsive.
