Driver side? Passenger side?

OS, i assume its for codes and the like. easy to refer to.

infact, i think its to do with the way the car travels. NS being the side nearest to the edge of the road, aka passenger side

so

OS; Drivers Side
NS; Passenger Side

:p

Quick Q:

Is the driver's side referred to as OS or NS?

And why?

Why not just driver side
and what do I do when I'm out in my Mclaren? ;)

if you drive a LHD car in a RHD country then saying "drivers side" would be incorrect.
nearside is the side nearest the kerb.
