i bought some new stuff half a year a go:

asus p5kr mainboard
intel q6600 cpu
2x kingston hyper-x ddr2 800 mhz ram
xpertvision geforce 8800 gt sonic / club 3d geforce 7200 gs

and i used my old psu (Enermax EG465AX-VE(G)(FMA), 433 Watts), harddisks (1x 160 gb ide, 1x 320 gb ide) and i'm on windows xp. no overclocking, ram timings are set up correctly.

i often get a bluescreen which says driver_irql_not_less_or_equai, i tried several driver versions for my graphics card, chipset and so on. the error occurs with both graphics cardsi even returned the memory and mainboard to eliminate faulty hardware. but i still got that errormessage, sometimes 5 minutes after booting the system, sometimes 2 hours later.

then i switched to vista 32 bit and right after the 1st boot after installing the os i got another blue screen. right now i'm at my wit's end.

i was thinking of getting a new psu or mainboard to finally get rid of these ******* bluescreens. any ideas ?

Hi had the same problem, tried everything it always seemed to happen when I was using the keyboard & or mouse.
Replaced both the keyboard & or mouse and 9 days without the BSOD (fingers crossed), strange but true!!
Hope this helps

Try Loading Optimized Defaults in Bios and leaving it at that for a day. Obviously can change the minor things. This was happening to me so I got a new mobo and was still doing it. I sometimes got the BSOD you got but sometimes Kmixer.sys. Loading optimized defaults fixed it :)

my bios only provides the "load default settings" option but that doesn't help at all. i noticed during the last few days that the computer everytime crashes 5 minutes after i turned it on. thats very strange.

I would look at changing your PSU for a 550W/600W using antec's PSU calculator it show's you are near the top end of your current PSU this is without including cap aging which might put it over
I had similar issue's with my old 600W ezcool PSU when i added couple of extra hdd's and changed vid card for current 7900GTX the 28A availeable on the +12 rail was the problem im still under 500w but now have the extra Amps required

My ancient Compaq 1.2 Duron laptop does that irq_not_less_or_equal all the time! Looked it up a while back, and basically got the answer its hardware and there is nothing i can do about it :(

So i just left it!

Actually i think puttin vista on it helped...

Had this and another blue screen with another mess, was told it could b cpu overheating which it wasnt or mem chenged mem and its been fine since.
