Drivers - WD Raptor 36gb???

Hi all,


I brought a Western Digtal 36gb Raptor drive but I must say Im not impressed so for

My Maxtor 120sata drive seemed quicker!! Should I have install sata drivers for my Asrock dual 939 mother board to get the best out of the Sata drives?

All depends on how you installed - is Raptor your boot drive or do you use graphics programs with lots of high res pics etc?

Certainly my booting 36GB raptor is way faster than any standard 7200rpm 8/16 mb cache drives with a fresh install

Windows should be able to install sata drives automatically - unless you have it in a raid of course then you will have to do the usual with the F6 button and install RAID drivers for your mobo on Windows install

Check Device Manager to check everything is ok and not runnning sub-optimally

Yup its me boot drive!


I may RMA back to Western Digital for a new one, this has warranty for a few years yet I think! Need to check serial number against the web!
