I have two 7200.10's that I've had raided for a few months now. I infact benchmarked the drives yesterday and this morning on booting the pc I noticed when the pc was posting raid status both of the discs as having errors:

Benchmark of yesterday against today, drives at idle

Can't see the top one but the bottom one looks nasty. Is the blue trace in the bottom one the benchmark from yesterday?

The problem with RAID0 is it's tricky to run diagnostics on the disks while they're still in the array. I know the Hitachi diagnostics can't cope with it but it might be worth seeing what the Seagate ones come up with.

seatools was useless via dos, came up with some errors, and the windows version doesn't do raid; well it tests the drives together

edit: but the raid'd volume fails both the long tests.

Hmm, not good if one of the tests is failing. I'd be backing up the array to one of your other drives, doing a base OS install on one of the others and testing the drives individually outside the array. It may be that only one of the drives has a problem.

Hdtach of both the drives, just noticed that they have different firmware, even though I bought them at the same time from the same etaler...

Oh well, Re did the array with a third disc that's just come back from an rma and now 160avg read speed :P
