Driveway Alarm

I raised a query with police Scotland (online) as we noticed the attempt the day after, received this response :

'Due to the passage of time I am unable to raise an incident, what we advise is if there is an ongoing incident call us at the time it is happening. If it is non emergency use 101 and if you believe it to be an emergency call 999.'

This was late August

I specifically want to just be woken up when he arrives so I can call the police. All 5 incidents have been logged by multiple neighbours, he just needs to be caught in the act. Luckily in Manchester there's a police car every 40 feet.

Smear something that smells and looks nasty (but isn't for your sake) on the door handles, will give him a nice little surprise. That or wire them up for a nice shock :p

We have a couple of blink xt2 cameras covering the back and front of the house. I get a notification on my phone and tablet when it senses motion.

I set the notification to an annoying sound and make sure the volume is up at night.

So what have the police said? Did you get Crime Numbers? If you’ve had 3 thefts (or attempted thefts) and you have evidence that identifies the thief then there is a complaints procedure to get the police to do something about it.
Not a lot really, they’ll be in touch.

we havn’t had any thefts ourselves. Our drive is fenced off completely.

A nest cam will alert you when there is movement in a specific area. I know because mine does this and it's like a text message.

You want an alarm to go off which is so loud it wakes you. But guess what it will also alert him that an alarm has gone off if it's 3am and extremely quiet. Unless he's deaf.

Personally I'd pull an all nighter if he's regular and you know what days or times. Like if it's between 3 hours then not that hard. I'd also have a mate with me and a bat.

Aim for his legs from behind. Then a good few whacks to the legs to stop his ability to run away hastily. Feel free to pepper stomach with a few kicks just avoid headshots.

Basically as long as you don't dome him your good.

Afterwards hide the bat (not in your own home or property) and say you tackled him to the ground and kept him there. If police don't find a bat lying around they cannot prove there was a bat.

It's about what you can prove not what happened. So turn all your camera's off. Say you and your mate were star gazing have a telescope handy.

Police won't care too much you have done their job unless you go Rambo and do serious or permanent damage.

You need a mate to be a witness 2 v 1 so it goes your way in the fight and as testimony that he attempted a break in and you both saw it. Otherwise it's your word against his.

Do not admit to striking him at any point. Say you held him only. You have no idea how he got injured.

Obviously folk on here don't know how the law works.

If you don't admit anything and your witness backs you up there is nothing he can do unless you go overboard on the beating.

Guys I'm not going to assault anyone, or smear crap on my car or get two rottweilers. Yes he deserves a kicking but for goodness sake.

Car. Hooked up to indoor mains socket with no RCD.

Or simply, note on car that says "I have you on CCTV, I know where you live. Come back here again and there will be consequences."

No just a dumb one, the one above allows a pre recorded speech
The one you linked is a two way he would have to sit there waiting to talk

No need for a message it has an alarm function much more effective than a recorded message.

Has floodlight and camera built in for clear picture to hand over to the police.

The police should turn up once notified to review footage and he's likley known to someone else at the station.

Ok whatever you say
Your always right right
