Driveways!

Does anyone have any recommendations when it comes to creating a driveway? I know we have to get the council to drop the kerb, but how about any new fangled eco-materials out there so we can avoid concrete or gravel? Thanks.

So we recently went to the Grand Designs exhibition at the NEC and decided to go with one of these 2 options:
https://www.marshalls.co.uk/gardens-and-driveways/product/grassguard-permeable-paving
https://ecogrid.co.uk/ - A driveway made out of recycled plastic that still allows grass to grow on it...although that means it still needs to be mowed! This is what we plan to try out as soon as possible.
