Thanks in advance guys :)

No but the hire company will either send you the fine directly or pass your details on to the authorities who will send you the fine, whether you pay it or not is up to you but be aware that if you don't pay it there is a chance that it will be recorded on your immigration details and you may get collared if you return to the country.

Its not a certainty, some people have got away with going back to Oz and nothing happening but others have been caught going into the country and forced to pay the fine (plus additional costs)

When driving keep an Eye out for Kangaroos and Wombats. Hitting either of those will more then likely write off the car

 A wombat is big enough to write a car off ?

You can write off a car with a baseball bat, why not a wombat???

Seriously though, a fully grown one weighs about 30kg and is about a metre long so could do a bit of damage.

Yep. Worse then kangaroos in some cases.

If you hit a wombat its like hitting a giant rock, it will smash up the part of the car that hit it then go under the car and the car will flip more then likely.

They can also run at something like 50kph :p :D
