Driving: Pass Plus.

Run some insurance quotes with and without it, if the price difference is more than the course costs then it may be worth it.

I remember around 4ish years ago pass plus would have knocked around £200 off my first years insurance, not really sure what it would be like now though. Do some insurance quotes with and without pass plus.

Also... stop tawking lke an utter moron 4 gds sake!!!

I passed a few months ago (July) and I asked my instructor about pass plus, he said that it is not worth it anymore, if you take into account the cost of the course and how much you will save on insurance it really isn't worth it.

Do it!

Even if you dont save that much on insurance at least you will know how to drive properly on a motorway. There are far too many retarded drivers who dont understand how a motorway works and they are a danger to themselves and other road users.

You dont want to be one of them. Personally I think that pass pluss should be part of the full driving test not an optional extra. Would certainly make our roads safer and probably cut down on congestion and there would be less retards on the road..

^^ was gonna post the above reason. So many useless drivers on the roads.. I wish lane discipline was introduced in driving lessons...

if it wont cost you much overall to become a better driver - go for it!

ive passed my driving test yesturday =)

so im wondoring do i need pass plus?

i mean, will it be worth the time and money?

also i heard u get 2 chances =/
I am just finishing my Pass Plus and have experienced aspects of driving that I never came across on my driving lessons, back roads and motorways etc. In my opinion any extra experience on the roads is a must!

It is isn't it?

Maybe not on motorways but on dual carriageways it is.

I'd say if you have common sense (hopefully you can self-assess this attribute) you should have no trouble with motorways, country roads and night driving. There really is no need for a course, that's why it's not compulsory. Yeah sure more training is better, but I'd ask all of you saying that - where do you draw the line with that mentality?

They should make it a compulsory part of the test IMO. You should be forced to learn to drive on the motorway and in different types of conditions before you get your licence.

Pass plus cover nearly all the stuff you have done anyway. By the time I passed my test the only thing I hadn't done is motorway driving. Saved me a little on my insurance but I don't think it is the be all and end all.

It is nice to have something to differentiate yourself from the hordes of other 18 yr old "risky" boys :p

I actually spent 2 hours driving in snow on one of my Pass Plus sessions. Its worth it for the additional skills you can get (motorway driving being a main one), but financially its not worth it any more.

Depends if you want to be a better driver, or are just looking to save some money.

I did it, but only because it cost me £25 because of a Welsh scheme.

From a monetary perspective, it is very unlikely to be worthwhile; the course of lessons will almost certainly cost you more than you save on insurance. From a driving point of view, you don't really learn anything that special; in my opinion it would have been just as beneficial to have gone on the motorway for a couple of hours with my dad in the car.

ok...from reading all your comments,

i decided not to go for it. because, i'm not going to be getting a car anytime soon =/ (more like in 5 years time).

Since it doesnt save much on insurance, then theres not much point.
Also, wouldnt it be better if i use the money to pay for more normal lessons? to go on motorways? and gain experience?

so i guess from my point, i dont think il be needing it.

yeah, whats wrong with my typing/grammer? i dont think im doing anything wrong.
