Driving pet hates...

Anyone flashes or gestures me I slow right down.
I wouldn't pull out on someone on purpose though but have had them flash when I have legitimately gone to overtake someone. Not my fault the idiot on lane 3 wanted to do 100+
Just re-read this properly. Why TF would you pull out to "legitimately gone to overtake someone" if someone is coming towards you at a high speed?!
STAY IN YOUR LANE and wait until they have passed before you pull out. Forcing someone to take evasive action (regardless of their speed) is not a "legitimate overtake".

-edit. Maybe I re-read it wrong. How slowly are you overtaking someone if there's no one there when you pull out, yet he's up your chuff while you're overtaking?

Honestly, this is one of the reasons why I drive fast through Germany. I find it much easier/more relaxing to drive balls to the wall in the fast lane than to constantly judge the speeds of cars in my mirrors and overtake all the time.

If you performing a manoeuvre means someone else has to change their speed, it ain't legit. Suggest you read the highway code. Rule 133. Might get you done for dangerous driving or at the least without due care.

Don't make me laugh, somwone having to reduce their speed due to a car in front is part of using a motorway.

It's a blatant act of dangerous driving, which will also be seen by some officers as trying to incite other drivers. It's petty and pathetic.

Get an unmarked spot you doing it, or someone who gets the act of slowing down and getting within an inch from you wrong... all I can say is good luck.

No it's not.

Ever had someone pull out into lane 2 from 1 when your overtaking?forcing you to possibly slow down or move sharpish into next lane? Yea me too. Normal motorway driving

Stop being silly. You need to read it properly and the comment I replied to. Why would someone be coming towards me on the motorway.

Drivers who don't know how to use the motorway. Outside lanes are for sure overtaking!

Also people who use their phone whilst driving on the motorway. Who can always tell who those people are. Just lookout for cars veering to the left and right!

Depends which road, on the A14 veering to left & right, is the sign of a car driver with > one brain cell avoiding pot-holes

How does someone overtake then? They are coming towards you, albeit from behind but that's still a perfectly acceptable use of the words he chose, you're being petty for the sake of it which seems entirely pointless.

Are you a bit...glum? A car approaching from behind travelling faster than you would be coming towards you.
I think you need your weetabix.

TBF robs comment was fine originally it was mjt that confused matters when he got the wrong end of the stick, then robs comment back only makes sense if reading the whole exchange in one go (as I just did) :)

I have another one.

People who stop a number of yards short of the junction/stop line/car in front/whatever, in standstill traffic, and then edge forward vvveeerrryyy slowly. They might even stop for a bit, then continue edging forward. OH MY GOD just proceed to where you're supposed to stop, and then stop! It's absolutely infuriating if I'm following you and you're doing this for absolutely no fathomable reason.

This is my biggest pet hate. I have got to the point where I just stop edging if it's at lights. Why stop 2 car lengths then slowly move forward? Madness.

Probably the worst is middle lane drivers. The ones who sit at 60MPH and never move into lane one, this causes arctic lorries to also back up stuck behind you.

People who don't indicate on roundabouts, junctions.

The list is endless.

I do 35k miles per year and tbh couldn't care less anymore. Drive relaxed and feel better. Don't get all this road rage stuff.
