Driving refuse/bin lorries?

A lot of employers will want some experience...
Find a new agency ASAP as there are many that do have jobs for newly passed drivers.

Believe me I know this - it was the agency lying to the company that did me as I'd quit a job based on that - I am now jobless thanks to lying *******.

The ones who need new passes are all class 1. Class 2 is impossible to get into. They need experience for the insurance - because from being driven around by some drivers I was far safer than all of them!

Its not impossible to get into , i got a full time job within a month of passing my class 2,
the agency i was with had continuous work with a food distribution company that had no issue with new passes in fact they advertised as such.
The full time i got is driving skip and tipper lorries and only needed me to be over 25 for there insurance.
One days training on the various vehicles and i was out on my own.
Dont get disheartened and stick with it, theres much more work than drivers out there ;)

I thought it would be easy as people want drivers... But not in Leicestershire. There are obviously too many here. The only way i might stand a chance is commuting to Birmingham 40 miles away.

I've been looking for work since last November in driving.... Not one. Until yesterday.

sign up with as many agencies as you can, (best check but fairly sure there's nothing wrong with doing that!) different companies will use different agencies....can only increase your chance of shift offers if you're signed up with a few

don't lie, but maybe have to be economical with the truth if there's nowhere that'll take brand new drivers...ie don't tell them what you have or haven't done unless it's a specific question.
you should be able to get an assesment with a company as an agency driver though, even with zero experience (some companies won't use any agency drivers until they've been assessed, but that tends to go out the window when one of their drivers phones in sick and they're too busy or the assessor's not on site....so there's flexibility...)

Fingers crossed something comes of it as shunting in pitch black. Never reversed inches from vehicles, people and buildings in the dark but managed it well - even at 2am.
They said they'd put a good word in for me.
