Driving test tommorow :eek:

Passed first try, i went down the pub for a swift one on the morning of my exam, just generally relaxed with my mates. Walked over to my exam, had a fag on the way.
Got in the car confident, slightly annoyed i had to drive like an old woman for an hour but i found it all fairly easy once i was behind the wheel all adjusted.

Never heard of anyone doing this before their driving test :)

I fancied a drink before my test but didn't think the examiner would be too impressed if I got into the car stinking of booze.
 
You know I passed on my 3rd time, the 1st 2 times the examiners were male who failed me on roundabouts and a few minors, I didn't bother to argue and the 3rd time the examiner was a nice lady who marked me for 5 minors and I passed :D

I had about 25 lessons.

I must shamefully admit that I was a bit fuzzy on the morning of my test as my friends decided it would be a good idea to drag me out on the **** the night before (I didn't tell anyone I had the test the next day). It probably calmed me down enough to make sure I passed though to be honest. I think I'd have been a bag of nerves otherwise.
 
I passed third time as well. I think the test nowadays is down to luck. At the end of the day, they have to maintain their pass rate so if they need to, they will find any reason for failing you.

This isn't me being bitter for being failed twice, it's just a point mine and many other driver instructors have made. I failed my first test on stopping on an amber light, when the examiner thought I could have just made it through before the red. (Should have seen my instructors face in the debrief). Second time, I went through a puddle too fast. Was quite funny actually, had the same examiner on the second and third tests. We got talking about my last tests and I mentioned the reason I failed my last test, he seemed a bit shocked and said that he would have simply given a minor and explained what to take it a bit slower in future. He went all quiet when I timidly mentioned it was him haha.

I'm sure you've done fine if you kept calm, checked your mirrors regularly and took it nice and steadily.
