As above really! I've got my test tomorrow morning. I feel pretty well prepared, but I keep making annoying errors during lessons. I guess I'm just hoping I have a good day and dont do anything stupid.

Any other tips I should keep in mind?

if you think you've made a mistake early one dont give up it might just be a minor. the examiner will be writing in his pad all the time, he aint nessesarly be noting down errors.

Thanks, I'll keep it in mind :)

I'm pretty nervous about it - basically I'm moving house in a couple of days, so if I fail the test tomorrow I'll have to re-learn the routes and get to grips with a new car and instructor in the new city. Would cost a bundle, so I intend to pass first time ;)

Yup, half way through mine he started to check the tax date on the windscreen and writing all kinds of things down. Thou if he just do a tick (flick with his pen) then its likely to be an error, but major or minor you won't know so KEEP GOING and don't give up.

Mirrors, mirrors and more mirrors. Always make sure you check your blind spot when crossing over a white line or pulling away. Mirror -> Signal -> Manouever. Sure your driving instructor has taught you how to drive. Just do as he has told you and you should pass nps,

So what your really saying is that you can only drive on test routes? Will your license when you pass state the roads you can drive on? Or are you supposed to be able to drive anywhere anytime?

Does your instructor think your ready? If he does then you probably are.

Best bet is just to drive normally as you were taught. Do that and you should be fine. Best of luck.

As suggested use mirrors whenever possible. Also don't go too slow, I almost failed for "progression" which I think means not building up speed fast enough.

No, it's Progress. As in not driving at an appropriate speed. say going 20mph in a 30 where its safe to do 30. Not booting it up to the limit as quick as the car will accelerate. :D

Equally if you go too fast then its use of speed.

Eequally if you go too fast then its use of speed.
Ahh thanks, I didn't bother looking at what it was because I passed :) I think I was doing about 25 on a long narrow road and it was raining quite heavily, but I still got penalised

If you think about it too slow can be as dangerous as too fast.

Talking about progress, when you come out of a T junction, accelerate to the appropriate speed as soon and as safe as you can. Watch for the car behind in the mirror, if he catches up to you (and he isn't breaking the speed limit) it'll be a fail.

Heh, when I did my car test I didn't even really notice things such as that because cars can accelerate quickly, but after just doing my PCV test pulling out and slowing people down is a big no no. Can't imagine you will have a problem with it in a car test as you can accelerate quickly and it isn't 40 ft long!

You know what I mean - The test routes seem to be designed to go through annoying areas, and since you have to drive essentially perfectly it helps to have seen them beforehand :p

Thanks for all the advice - I'll just say 'mirrors mirrors mirrors' to myself as I sit down..

I just had my last lesson before the pre-test warmup. My instructor thinks I'll be fine, though he may just say that to everyone so their nerves aren't too bad.

Will update in the morning!

Don't kill anyone (havent done that)
Don't pull out infront of motercycles (did that)
Don't avoid temporary bus lanes when they're not active (did that)

well, all i can say is relax, i know its easier said than done, but its true, if your instructor has said your ready, then your ready, just have faith in yourself and hopefully on the day it all comes together. and relax - have i already said that lol.

Good luck..

Good luck mate :) , i took my test this morning and passed :D . I'm sure you'll be fine if your instructor said your ready so try not to worry about it and just drive as if your in a lesson.

Dont even think about what he might be writing, just do exactly what he says to do and the test will pass in no time.

Also, look at mirrors even if it seems overkill..to avoid silly minors :p

Best of luck :D

concentrate dont let your mind start thinking about summert else..its only 45mins max..

dont get too nervous cuz your more likely to make mistakes..and belive your good enough to pass

i was nervous as **** but it went well and passed first time

No swearing
