...in a couple of weeks. Any advice?

I'm getting my car the same day (whether i pass or not) - so it's either gonna be an awesome day or the complete opposite.

Sorry for posting in the wrong forum, btw.

I managed to get a 135(ish) time because i figured it's around the end of lunchtime and not the end of school & work so the roads won't be too busy - less hazards and no kids running about.

Everyone i know has said similar things. Adjust mirrors so it's obvious when you're using them because you have to physically move to do so (within reason ofc), always checking your blind spots before/during/after manoeuvres, be friendly to the examiner, stay calm and dont panic so everything is fluid and smooth.

Thing is, all my mates who have failed in the past always seem to do so in situations they don't really have a lot of control over. I don't mind failing if it's my fault but not when some guy cuts me up and the examiner gets to his pedals a second before i do (which would obviously be the case as he's been driving at least 10 years...)

I'm aiming to get an earlier test though, i can't handle the stress and being so anxious about it for another two weeks. It's already been over a month....

So many of mates have passed ridiculous stuff though that they have no control over - the examiners seem really keen to slam the dual pedals down or grab the steering wheel when it's completely unneccesary.

Are there any driving instructor or even better, examiners in here? I'm taking my instructor with me in the car when i take my test to deter the examiner from trying to fail me on something completely ridiculous.

D-Day is tomorrow....!

I'm not actually worried though. Just want it to be out of the way so i know whether i can go buy the car i'm getting and drive around, or whether to rebook it and go see Nightmare on Elm Street.

For anyone interested, i failed :(

Apparently i kerbed it but i didn't feel it at all in the place where it supposedly happened....and when you kerb a car, you definitely feel it....

Meh, i've re-booked it anyway. There's nothing else i can do.

Yeah but the guy i had was a complete wa***r to be honest....ignored me whenever i spoke to him, wore reflective sunglasses and just sounded up himself. There's professional and then there's just ignorant!

All my mates were surprised i got a major for kerbing too. Can't have bad if i did do it either otherwise i woulda felt it.

Well i did but apparently not coz a few mates did it on their tests and didn't get a major for it. Some not even a minor. My instructor did say it's a gray area though. For example, what if you had to kerb it to avoid an oncoming speeding car or a wide vehicle, providing it's safe to do so and you don't hit anyone/thing then it's fine right? Wrong. I've heard people failing for having to mount a kerb because of a narrow road + wide vehicle.

Imo, the examiner just does what the hell he wants on the day. It seems more a case of luck as to whether you pass or not.

Yeah i took that mentality of just relaxing and if i fail i'll rebook it. It's a ballache but there's worse things that can happen! It's just a bit annoying really when there is no set rule on things like that. The examiners seem to have way too much freedom to judge, ya know? There's no consistency at all...

Anyone know what days and/or times the DSA site will update to account for cancelled/changed test dates? I keep checking back so i can try get an earlier date for my re-test but just wondering if anyone knows when their system is usually updated. Rather than me missing them all the time!
