Driving Tests, re-taking at regular intervals?

i think everyone in my family would fail there test now... my Dad is also a bus driver for a living, and is probably the worst driver out of the lot of us... (sorry dad). Both my mum and dad are slow at making there minds up, but my dad will just dither around, decide to change lanes or turn at the last moment or go when it isnt his turn etc. Im often scared being in the car with him.

My mum is a panicky person she always worried about things and will brake at the slightest of hazards (that aren't). My sister isn't so bad but ive not spent much time in her car. Me well i cant comment on my driving because we all think of ourselves are driving gods that can do no wrong. From first pass, you should take a refresher test after 2 years, then from then on retests every 10years?

While the regulations for new drivers have been ramped further and further, the middle aged **** cutting me up doesn't have to worry about increased costs or crazy insurance premiums...

I think for the 60+ people there should be a compulsary couple of hours with a driving instructor to sharpen your skills, like a CBT. Young people should be sent to do a cut down test if they get 3 points within 1 year.

You can get 3 points by speeding 5mph over the limit these days ...

I doubt you've stuck to the speed limits 99.9% of the time, have you?

I think it should be mandatory to redo it yearly beyond 75.
A few years before my Nanna died at 82ish, she had to go into hospital. Through one way or another they found out she'd had cataracts for at least a year, without telling anybody, and had been driving the whole time.
She wasn't senile or anything, just had far too much pride to admit she was getting old. It strikes me that a lot of the older generation (or people in general) can be like this, hence mandatory retests in my opinion.

Yes, but I would rather it wasn't a test as such, more like advanced lessons, where you spread it out a few hours in different driving conditions, a bit like Pass Plus, so you don't just drive well for half an hour then go back to your old bad habbits. The teacher could watch and see what you need to improve on if anything, then atleast you know what could be improved. The only problem is how to fund it, but surely as there would be less accidents so the money saved could go towards this.

Oh and do something about those uninsured drivers, their the problem.
