As are Tesco, no cover if there is not a valid MOT in place:

Check your policy booklet.

LV is fine, as one is not needed by law to drive on the road, providing you are on the way to a pre booked MOT.
Admiral is again fine, as a current MOT wouldn't be applicable if driving to a pre booked MOT.

Only the Tesco one there is explicit in the no MOT case.

Exactly how I read it as well, just checked my Aviva policy, and there is no mention of MOT, and only the line "You shall maintain your car in a roadworthy condition"
