So then,

what wheels do everyone use (if you use one at all)? Im thinking of getting one myself but im not sure if to go with the Thrustmaster 458 or not. I did look at spending a little more and getting a Logitech G27 but with me using an xbox its £70 extra for the adaptor.

Im aware the new console is out soon but I won't be getting that anytime soon (Xbox One).

Well I won't buy the new xbox straight away anyway because of the cost and the first version usually has problems. I found a Fanatec CSR with pedals for £200.

Desk is a mexican oak desk which ile be clamping the wheel too.

So you fitted it permanently to the desk? Thats a nono for me because its my PC desk :/

Might just get the official microsoft wheel as it will be used for f1 so I won't use the clutch or the H shifter or the 900 degrees that you get with more expensive wheel (it would be nice for drifting though).

I will be buying second hand so if I do chose to get a better wheel in the future im not losing as much money.

Just lost out on a Ferrari 458 italia wheel. Went for £10 and then £10 for the courier. It didn't have force feedback anyway so I think ile go with the Microsoft wheel.

Can you buy better pedals and link them to the microsoft wheel or not?

Ile have to look in to it a bit more. Apparently its do-able when using a PC but some say it isn't when using an xbox.
