Hi

I seem to be having issues with my USB Mouse, when I click a dropdown box of any kind it sorta flicks down but then back up instantly? it seems to do it most of the time and when it does Ive got too keep clicking until it stops? (and stops with drop down box open)

clicking into my forum posts/replies is not working as it used too either...seems to be a bit scatty.

Iam using Windows 7x64 with default USB mouse driver, the mouse is actually plugged into my keyboard which has a USB port, its always worked no problem until now?

any ideas?

thanks in advance

What mouse do you have? Tried it with a USB on the PC instead of the keyboard? Have you tried another mouse? Another browser?

its an ASDA smart price mouse

its not just browsers, its windows and apps

thing is it worked before? I dont know if its co-incidence (probably is) but seem to start after installing Ableton 9 Live 30-day Trial

I will try it directly in the PC USB port and even uninstall the mouse and re-install it

I bought one from the same source as a 'cheap' spare and having tried it a few times have similar problems.

Tempted to take it back but for £3.50 I might put it down to experience.

Perhaps sometimes you get what you pay for.

yeah my dad had a TESCO mouse and his would occasionally scroll up whilst scrolling down lol... thing is its a 'simple' device so Iam amazed HOW it can go wrong? the drivers are all the same MS mouse driver?

Drivers may be the same but the hardware quality within the mouse will be different. Supermarket mices never last long to be honest, always better to buy one from a trusted brand. Had a Logitech one that lasted for a good 3 years before the left click was worn down, while my brother bought a supermarket brand, only for the sensor to die a couple of days later.

annoyingly i kept using the mouse and after spending 2 hours typing a long article on my forum i accidentally deleted it with no option to rescue/goback --- all because the mouse triple clicked (or whatever it does) when i only clicked once next to a number to delete it, unfortunately in rush to get it finished I was fast on the delete button before i realised the mouse had somehow highlighted everything on the page!!!!
