So I downloaded Dropbox and have to admit its a neat little App, but I wonder how secure it is to keep information on the Dropbox servers. I would very much like to hear opinions/experiences of other Dropbox users. Furthermore, it would be great to hear in what ways you used Dropbox.

Many thanks :)

Well I guess security is one of their main aims as they have grown quite large.
If there were security issues then people would flee the service like nothing else.

I use it for small files such as word documents and project files.
Even better when I can access it all from my phone, view the word docs and stuff.

I wouldn't use it for anything secure.

Dropbox is great for programming projects. I keep an git repository on mine.

Also good for any documents that I'm working. Don't have to worry about where I'll pick up the work next. :)

All my uni work stored on there. It's great in case i forget the pen drive. Also they keep back-ups of everything so saves me having to worry about it.

I keep my 1Password keychain file on there, so I can sync and have access to my passwords on all my devices :)

I do the same but with KeePass file, really handy as I often use more than 1 PC or Mac...

It's a shame more iOs apps don't support Dropbox, but the ones that do like Plaintext are really handy.

As above, encrypt anything hyper sensitive but there is a world of difference between your data being available to law enforcement and being available to hackers. I believe from the hacking point of view its pretty solid as long as you use it sensibly.
