Drove a DB9

can somebody explain something to me, where the hell does the vanquish fit in the aston martin line up

we have the 2 door Aston Martin V8 vantage, obvious replacement for the previous V8 Vantage. We have the DB9 4 door, obvious replacement for the DB7. We have the DBS, or DB9 S to give it its full name. Obviously the replacement for the DB7 V12 Vantage

but where does the vanquish fit ?

The Vanquish does not fit. It has been discontinued and replaced by the DBS, which willl be on sale soon for circa £170,000.

The Aston DB9 is £110kish, and is not a 4 door.

The V8 Vantage is the entry level Aston, at £80k.

that explains it then

didnt see the point in having 2 V12 cars

I usually just view these threads but.....

Luckily for me i get to see this everyday on my drive :D

Had it for over a year now and my dads hardly put any miles on it. He ends up driving his TT most the time due to the worry of people damaging it if they see it in a shopping car park etc.

Would like to say it is a pleasure to drive too ;)

See thats what I don't understand about these cars

The guy who bought the DB9 Volante at work only put 2000 miles on it before he sold it. What's the point in buying such a car if you aren't going to drive it.

Waste of money.

Most people buy them as a third or fourth car. That is why the milage on these cars are so low. You have to remember also that although they cost in the region of 100k, you are only losing a small percentage of value you bought the car at through depreciation.

Usually people who can afford to spend £100k+ on a car would have access to more than one car, usually a cheaper 'run around'. Also, in my friends position above, he takes the train to the city, works a long day then takes the train back leaving just the weekends for driving.
I would suppose that the majority of people who can afford to buy and run these cars have jobs that require long hours and potentially a fair amount of travel, so don't get the time to drive their cars (thats certainly true of my friend who has an '04 RS6, he's out the country for months at a time, leaving the poor thing on his drive!).

my dad lives on beach road, some nice cars kicking about, M6 couple of doors up, Aston martin on the corner, another aston at the bottom, a ferrari kicks about aswell, porches n what not aswell

Your boss? You told us you had your own businesses becuase you enjoyed working for yourself more than other people? What happened?
I've been doing a marketing internship with a stock market training company for 3 months during the summer before I go back to university, this is actually my last week hence them giving me a driving experience as a leaving present. I'm still running my own business, expanded nicely this summer actually:)

edit: I'm sorry if I don't keep you updated with every detail of my life fox!
edit 2: I just scratched my left testical:p

I drove one of these on my track day a few months ago. It was the Convertible too

Awesome cars. Just brilliant. Very quick, handled better than anything I'd driven before (although that's not that surprising!) and a real sense of occasion. The noise and power too! Wow

I've always really liked these and now having driven one it's at the top of the list if I ever win the lottery!

Lol no! Those are just pics of a DBS, I was driving it around London, quite a bit of traffic but I found empty roads:D
