Evening all.
Had few drinks friday night and my eldest daughter says she wants a PC.. few JDs thinking I have assembled computers 20 years ago so sod it I will make her one lol..

Now for the drunken buy.. I bought this for 70 pounds.....MSI AMD Radeon RX 570 ARMOR 8G OC GDDR5 Graphics Card

Now all she wants to play is simulator games like planet zoo.

What motherboard is best for this card and will I be better getting the 500w power supply and will the AMD A10 be fine for this please

Thanks all... time to lock away my JD lol

Hi and welcome.

RX 570 for £70 is decent. Actually bought the same model for a build last summer and it came with a mining BIOS which I had to flash to change. If you have any issues installing AMD Software or getting the full use of it, that tends to be a giveaway.

Take a look at the minimum and recommended requirements: https://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/requirements/planet-zoo/18717

What budget are you trying to stick to, if possible? And you have any old motherboard or other hardware laying around?

Check Gumtree as well. You can find some nice deals there, especially when accompanied by a decent write-up of the parts and how they've been used, like for example a £100 ad for: Intel i5 2500k CPU, Asus P8P67 Pro Motherboard, 8GB G.Skill RipjawsX RAM, Hyper 212X cooler/heatsink

Power supply could be a Corsair CX450, can find those new for £44. 500GB SSD for around £50 new. Doesn't have to be new but don't overpay for used. Then a cheap case to keep it close to £200, or spend a bit extra to make it look nice for her.

Seen some nice cases white with led light fans and mouse and keyboard for 75 all in, never thought of gumtree thanks

No worries, happy hunting and let us know how you get on.

P.S. If you enter a search for "motherboard" you can find nice combos like the above, with the benefit that all the parts (are stated to) work with each other fine.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £325.52 (includes shipping: £16.62)

this meets the recommended specs near enough so a better a better gaming experience can be had, but if you look elsewhere you can get the 1200 ryzen for nearly half the cost of the 1600, just wouldnt get close to recommended as it’s a 4 core rather than a 6 core of the 1600.
